Here are some of the shows I love to watch:
13 reasons why A great new series, its real, its raw and it gets you thinking. Bullying is such a real thing for students. Especially now with social media the bullying can be on going 24/7. Not giving any spoilers away just a word of warning the very last episode has a lot of blood. If I’m totally honest I’ll admit I had to fast forward through a bit of it. It got to much for me.
This is us. Another seriously amazing show! If you don’t like sad shows this isn’t for you! Not just because I am pregnant but almost every episode in the first season of this made me cry. Its heartbreaking and raw. It will make you appreciate every person you’ve ever loved. It will open your heart and your mind. Seriously give this one a go and let me know what you think to it. Just keep the tissues nearby! It also has Mandy Moore in it which is why I initially checked this series out. I love her!!!
Pretty Little Liars You have probably heard of this one! Its been on since 2010! It has just started back up last week for the final part of the final season. Only 6 more episodes left. So many unanswered questions I can’t wait to see how they are going to finish this series.
The bachelor/The bachelorette This is my guilty pleasure! Love the dream worthy dates they go on, all the dresses, and incredibly handsome men! Its been going on for years and is still going strong!
Jane the Virgin A young, devout Catholic woman discovers that she was accidentally artificially inseminated. Hilarious, witty and corny all bundled into one show. It is very light hearted and refreshing although with that being said a show wouldn’t be a show without some murders and mysteries in it…
These are a couple of the shows my husband and I love to watch together:
Outlander This is a really great series set mostly in Scotland. There is so much to this series I am finding it hard to give a brief summary. Here is a brief of the storyline posted on IMDB. “Follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.” (Outlander was a book, and has been remade on the screen many times. The Outlander series I am talking about is the most recent one.)
Poldark This one is equally as good as outlander and that is saying a lot. Its set in the olden days too. Here is the storyline from IMDB. (These series just have to much to them its hard to write about it without giving any spoilers away!!) “Ross Poldark returns to England after fighting in the American Revolution. His family and friends thought he was dead.
The woman he hoped to marry is now engaged to his cousin. His father is dead, and the property he has inherited has been allowed to deteriorate. It is the late 1700s in Cornwall, England. This is a family drama, but is also about the challenges and conflicts between the rich and the poor. It is a time when fishermen are not catching much fish, tin and copper mines are closing down because prices are too low, but the price of food and rents are high. Ross faces the challenge of making his land productive, caring for the tenants who rely on him, and trying to win back the woman he loved – or finding a reason to live without her.”
The Night Manager This show will make your palms sweat and keep you on the edge of your seat. If you are a fan of the James Bond movies this series is for you!! Which is ironic as it stars Tom Hiddleston – The newest James bond! Sadly there is only 6 episodes out but rumour has it they are making a second season. Music to my ears!
The Amazing Race Now this one is a bit different from the others I watch. It’s an American show which has been going since 2001! Teams of two race around the world facing all sorts of obstacles and challenges. Each week one team gets knocked out (whoever comes last in the challenges.) It shows you culture of so many different places, teaches you things and is exciting to watch. They have Amazing race Australia, Canada and many other countries. Personally we like the American version the best. I suspect they have the biggest budget and go to the neatest places. The drama between competing teams and within teams themselves is also very entertaining.
Sherlock If you haven’t watched this yet one question for you. WHY NOT?!???? Very good! Not many episodes but the episodes that are out are very well thought out! I think Benedict Cumberbatch makes a fabulous Sherlock!
Do you like any of these shows?! Or perhaps we have very similar taste in series… maybe you have some recommendations for me to check out?! If you do I would love to hear from you!! #Idontgetoutmuch #gonearethedayswhereIdidn’twatchTV
