Easter baking with the kids.

I wanted to do some easter baking with the kids. This is such an easy treat to make with little helping hands! Here is what you will need:

  • Corn flakes – could use any cereal really…
  • Mini eggs – the more the better in my opinion 😉
  • cupcake liners
  • 100g chocolate
  • 50g butter
  • 3tbsp of golden syrup

I started off by getting the kids to break up the chocolate and putting it into a glass bowl. Then I cut up the 50g of butter and added the 3tbsp of golden syrup. I melted this over a saucepan with boiling water. Be careful to stir frequently as its far to easy to burn chocolate as I’ve had the pleasure of learning the hard way in the past.

While I did this I got the kids to put the cupcake liners in the tins and the corn flakes into a big bowl.

Then I gave them each a spoon and poured the melted mixture onto of the corn flakes and told them to get mixing. It took awhile to get all the mixture covered.

Once covered we used the spoons to scoop the mixture into our cupcake liners trying to make a nest like shape. We then added 3 mini eggs on each nest and stuck them in the fridge to set.

The kids (and myself) where pleased as punch with how they turned out. Very yummy and so easy to do! There actually wasn’t one single fight between the kids while making these.

In my books that’s a big win!!!
